THE POSSIBILITIES ARE INFINITE

Name: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Course Code: BU339
Duration: 20

Scheduled Dates for BU339

The objective of our Lean Six Sigma Black Belt curriculum is to help participants develop a working knowledge of the Lean Six Sigma Quality tools and statistics and to acquire the ability to apply those tools and statistics to solve business problems. The course is based on the Action Learning paradigm with a focus on skill acquisition: attendees are expected to come to the class with a project to work on over the course of the four months of the program. As concepts are presented in class, having a project ensures the participants are thinking about how they might be able to apply the topic in question. They are also given time during class to apply the tools and techniques they are learning to their project, with direct support and guidance from the instructor. In class, we emphasize skill building over concept acquisition. Each module presents theory and an example to illustrate how the concept can be applied. Then attendees work through an example on their own or in small groups. At varying points, a case study is worked to try to bring together the various tools or approaches that have been discussed to that point. The training is spread over the course of four months to enable participants to work on their projects while they learn the tools - this just-in-time learning typically shows the best results. Our training is based on Minitab software.
